Located 50 metres from Melbourne’s second biggest shopping centre, a 10-storey residential accommodation project encompassing over 400 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments is underway by Hamilton Marino.
Despite being so close to the shopping centre, the site has no access to mains power. The Site Manager described it as "We may as well have been on an island".
He calculated the total equivalent kVA needed to power this site with diesel generators would have been a combined 1010kVA, at an estimated 115,427L ($288,568 AUD) of diesel. Instead, the single E-Gen600 paired with a 150kVA diesel genset has saved an estimated 97,427L ($243,568 AUD) of diesel and prevented 265t of CO₂ emissions.
The E-Gen600 is powering all equipment on-site: JL516B-24t and JL316-16t luffing cranes, twin 160A hoists, and three 70A power circuits dedicated to lighting, site power and amenities.
The unit has recorded 43,063kWh across 111 days and seen peaks of 262kVA, all while maintaining an average SoC of 84.6%.
